How do you know when to use lane position 1 (left third), 2 (center), or 3 (right third)?

1. Always ride in the center
2. Choose the position that gives the best view of the road ahead, the best visibility to other drivers, and the most separation from hazards — change as conditions change
3. Stay in position 3 at all times
4. Lane position is decided by Iowa Code, not the rider
