When passing another vehicle, you should:

1. Pass on the shoulder
2. Stay in your lane, signal, check mirrors and blind spots, pass quickly through the other driver's blind spot, then return to your lane after seeing the vehicle in your mirror
3. Pass without signaling to surprise the driver
4. Pass on a curve or hilltop for the best line
