What is the proper technique for exiting a highway?

1. Slow down in the through lane first
2. Signal, move into the deceleration lane at highway speed, then reduce speed within the deceleration lane
3. Stop in the highway lane before exiting
4. Exit at highway speed and brake on the ramp
