When the hammer is stowed or stored at the end of operations, it should be:

1. Left hanging from a single worn rope
2. Lowered onto stable support or secured in its stowed position so it cannot fall or shift
3. Balanced loosely on top of a staged pile
4. Placed on the energized power line
