The correct answer is 80%. In North Carolina, the passing score for the motorcycle permit written test is set at 80%, which means that a test-taker must answer at least four out of every five questions correctly to pass. This standard ensures that individuals have a solid understanding of motorcycle operation, safety practices, and the rules of the road specific to motorcyclists. Achieving this score reflects a level of knowledge that helps in reducing the risk of accidents and promotes safer riding practices among new motorcyclists.
