1. Never — overtaking on the left is always prohibited
2. When the vehicle ahead is turning right, is stationary, or there are two or more lanes of traffic going the same direction and safe to overtake
3. Only on multi-lane motorways at speeds above 80 km/h
4. Only when directed by a police officer
