When carrying cargo on a motorcycle, the load should be:

1. Piled high on the gas tank in front of you
2. Kept low, balanced side to side, secured with straps so it cannot shift, and not extending wider than the handlebars
3. Bungee-corded only to one side
4. Left loose so air can flow through it
