Where can the "Explanation of Characters" table be found?

Answer: B — Inside front cover of the timetable and the back cover of the SSI

The "Explanation of Characters" table is specifically located in the inside front cover of the timetable and the back cover of the System Special Instructions (SSI). This placement ensures that important information regarding the symbols and characters used throughout the timetable is easily accessible to conductors and other personnel. By having it in these prominent locations, users can quickly reference it while navigating the timetable, allowing for a more efficient understanding of operational guidelines and any associated symbols. Other locations mentioned, such as the timetable subdivision page (C) or the Operational Procedures Manual (D), do not provide the same level of immediate accessibility to the "Explanation of Characters" as the specified area in the front and back covers. These other documents might contain relevant information but would require additional searching, making them less practical for quick reference.
