What should you do if your vehicle's tyres lose traction and you begin to skid?

1. Brake hard immediately
2. Steer into the direction of the skid and ease off the accelerator or brake
3. Apply full throttle to straighten the vehicle
4. Turn the wheel sharply in the opposite direction to the skid
