  1. 14 years old
  2. 15 years old
  3. 16 years old
  4. 18 years old

Answer: C — 16 years old

In Alberta, the minimum age to apply for a Class 7 learner's permit is 16 years old. This age requirement ensures that applicants have reached a level of maturity and readiness to begin learning to drive under supervised conditions. Obtaining a learner's permit is a crucial step in the graduated licensing process, which helps ensure that new drivers gain the necessary experience and skills before progressing to a full driver's license. Lower age requirements, such as 14 or 15, do not align with Alberta’s standards for ensuring road safety and driver competency.
