A bus front evaporator cools well but the rear evaporator does not cool and the rear expansion device is suspected. The best first diagnostic step is to:

1. Replace the rear blower motor
2. Replace the compressor immediately
3. Check rear evaporator inlet/outlet temperatures and rear circuit refrigerant flow
4. Add refrigerant until rear cools
