1. Turn the steering wheel firmly in the opposite direction of the skid and brake hard until the car straightens out.
2. Steer in the direction of the skid (the direction the rear of the car is sliding) and avoid sudden braking.
3. Pull the handbrake immediately and turn off the engine.
4. Accelerate hard to power out of the skid.
