When riding behind another motorcycle in a staggered formation, your minimum following distance from the rider directly ahead of you (same tire track) should be:

1. 1 second
2. 1 second behind the rider in the other tire track, 2 seconds behind the rider directly ahead in your tire track
3. 5 seconds
4. There is no recommended distance
